How to add a WhatsApp button to your website
Type your number above, pick how the button looks, and copy the code. Paste it just before the closing </body> tag of your site, or into any block that accepts custom HTML. The button floats in the corner of every page it is on, and tapping it opens a WhatsApp chat with you, with your greeting already typed.
The code is a single link with its own styles and the WhatsApp icon drawn inline. It loads nothing from other servers, so there's no plugin to update, no extra cookies and no effect on page speed.
Where to paste it
WordPress: add a Custom HTML block in the footer widget area, or paste it into your theme's footer through a header-and-footer plugin. Shopify: in Online Store, Themes, Edit code, open theme.liquid and paste it just above </body>. Wix and Squarespace: use the site-wide custom code setting and place it at the end of the body. Plain HTML: paste it before </body> on each page.
Getting the number right
Use the full international number: country code first, without the leading zero. A Pakistani number written locally as 0300 1234567 becomes +92 300 1234567. The tool removes spaces and dashes for you and warns you if the number looks local. To share the same chat as a link or a printed QR code, use the WhatsApp link generator or the QR code generator.
When the chats start coming in
A button brings customers to your WhatsApp. Answering them all is the next job. ChatRail connects the number you already use and can answer common questions with AI from your prices and policies, save new enquiries to Google Sheets, and book appointments in Google Calendar. You describe what you want in your own words and switch it on. The free Sandbox is enough to try it.
Questions
Is this WhatsApp chat button free?
Yes. There's no sign-up, no limit and no monthly fee. The button is plain HTML that you own, and it keeps working for as long as the number is on WhatsApp.
Will it slow down my website?
No. It is one link with an icon drawn inline, about 2 KB. There's no script to load and no request to any other server, so it doesn't affect page speed or cookie banners.
Do you store the number I type?
No. The button is built in your browser with JavaScript. The number and message never leave your device.
Does it work on phones?
Yes. On a phone the button opens the WhatsApp app; on a computer it opens WhatsApp Web or the desktop app. It works with personal and WhatsApp Business numbers.
