How to export a WhatsApp chat
On Android: open the chat, tap the three dots, then More, then Export chat. Choose Without media for a small file, and save or send the .txt to yourself. On iPhone: open the chat, tap the contact or group name at the top, scroll down and tap Export Chat. Without Media gives a .zip with the chat text inside. Either file works here as it is.
Then choose the file above or drag it onto the box. Chats with tens of thousands of messages open in a few seconds.
Open a WhatsApp chat in Excel or as a PDF
Download CSV gives one row per message with the date, time, sender and text. Excel, Google Sheets and Numbers open it directly, and the file is saved as UTF-8 so Urdu, Hindi, Arabic and emoji stay readable. Save as PDF opens your browser's print window with only the chat on the page; choose Save as PDF as the printer to keep a copy you can share or archive.

Next to the chat you'll see how many messages it has, who wrote most and what share each person has, how many photos and files were sent, the dates it covers and the busiest hour of the day. It is a quick way to see who carries a group or when your customers write most.

Is my chat uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read by your browser and never leaves your device. ChatRail doesn't see your messages, names or numbers, and nothing is saved when you close the page.
Can I open the .zip that my iPhone made?
Yes. Choose the .zip as it is. The viewer reads the chat text inside it. Photos and voice notes in the .zip are not shown; their place in the chat is marked.
